The present research aims at investigated psychometric properties of the Adolescent Self Regulatory Inventory (ASRI) among a sample of Iranian female students. The ASRI is a theoretically-based questionnaire that taps two temporal aspect of self-regulation (regulation in the short and long term). The subjects consisted of all female students of secondary school who studies in schools of Shahin-Shahr (city in Isfahan Province) during the school year 2014-2015. In this regard, 336 students of Shahin-Shahr secondary schools were selected using random cluster sampling method and were asked to completed self-report questionnaire focused on intentional self-regulation (Adolescent Self-Regulatory Inventory and Model of Selection, Optimization, and Compensation (SOC) ) and psychological adjustment (Adjustment Inventory for High School Students). Confirmatory factor analysis demonstrated that internal consistency of the long-term and short-term factors was satisfactory. Requirements for concurrent and construct validity were met. Cronbach's alpha coefficient for short-term and long-term self-regularly subscales were 0/81 (ST) and 0/80 (LT). Finally, the results suggested that ASRI was two-factor, reliable tool for assessing and evaluating dimensions of intentional self-regulation in adolescence. Manuscript profile

The objective of this research was to evaluate the effect of positive mindfulness training program on stress response and depression symptoms in male adolescents with depression symptoms in Isfahan. The current research was a quasi-experimental design with pre-test, post-test and follow-up and a control group. A total of 40 students were selected from second grade high school male students in Isfahan during the academic year 2016-2017, based on the inclusion criteria and multi-stage cluster sampling procedures. The experimental group received positive mindfulness program for 8 sessions of 90 minutes. Subjects were evaluated by Stress Response Inventory (Kuh Park, Kim & Chow, 2001) and Beck Depression Inventory-Second Edition (Beck, Stear & Brown, 1996). Data were analyzed by repeated measures analysis of variance analysis. The results showed the effect of positive mindfulness training on stress response and depression symptoms in post-test and follow up stages (p <0.01). Manuscript profile

The current study was conducted to investigate the structural relationships between attachment styles and major depressive symptoms in adolescents with the mediation of cognitive flexibility and distress tolerance. The research method is a correlation type, which was conducted through structural equation modeling on 352 adolescents aged 13-18 years old, who were selected by available sampling from the adolescent population of the 1st district of Tabriz city. Data were collected using the Collins and Reed attachment style scale, Kotcher depression scale, Dennis and Vanderwaal cognitive flexibility questionnaire, and Simmons and Gaher distress tolerance scale. Research data were analyzed using path analysis. The findings of the research indicated the optimal fit of the hypothetical research model. In addition, the results showed that distress tolerance can be considered as a mediating factor in the relationship between secure and insecure avoidant attachment styles with adolescent depression symptoms, on the other hand, the results showed that cognitive flexibility can be the relationship between secure attachment styles to mediate insecure avoidance and insecure anxiety with adolescent depression symptoms. The results of the research showed that distress tolerance and cognitive flexibility can mediate the relationship between attachment styles and the symptoms of major depression in adolescents. The results of this research can be used to identify the causes of adolescent depression and formulate therapeutic, interventions, including teaching adolescents the components of distress tolerance and cognitive flexibility.
The purpose of the present research was to identify and explain the lived experience of single-child adolescent. This qualitative research was conducted in a phenomenological way with purposeful sampling through semi-structured interviews. The statistical population of the current study was single-child adolescent living in Tehran. The process of interviews continued until the saturation of the data was reached 14 participants. The method chosen for the analysis of the obtained data was the seven-step Claysey method. The findings of the present research provide four main categories of self-perception, interpersonal factors in the family, interpersonal factors with friends and interpersonal factors in school. We have 8 sub-categories obtained from this research. Also, 55 conceptual structures were among other findings of this research. The results of the present study showed that although single parenthood is a period that can bring benefits to individuals, especially teenagers, but in practice single parent teenagers have faced many challenges and issues. It seems that mental health experts can gain a deeper and better understanding of single-child teenagers by using the results of this research.
Manuscript profile
