        1 - The Structural Correlation Modeling of Stress and Eating Disorder by mediating Meaning in Life and Experiential Avoidance.

        The purpose of this study was modeling the relationship between Stress and Eating Disorder by mediating the Meaning of Life and Experiential Avoidance. The research method is descriptive and type of Structural Correlation Modeling. The statistical population of this study is all studying students at Mashhad Ferdowsi University in 2020.. 387 people were selected from among the studying students by multi-stage cluster sampling method. The participants answered to Eating Attitudes Test (Garner et al., 1979), Multidimensional Experiential Avoidance Questionnaire (Gamez et al., 2011), Meaning of Life Questionnaire (Steger & Shin, 2010) and Student Stress Survey (Ross, Neibling, Heckert, 1999). Data were analyzed by SPSS 23 and AMOS 23 statistical software. P-value was smaller than 0.01 in the Total Effect Model analysis and the Mediation Effect Model analysis. The results of Total Effect Model analysis showed that the variable of Stress was directly and positively correlated with the variable of Eating Disorder. Also, the results of the Mediation Effect Model analysis showed that the variable of Experiential Avoidance mediates positively and partially the relationship between Stress and Eating Disorder. The Meaning of Life mediates negatively and partially the relationship between Stress and Eating Disorder. In addition to conceptualizing Eating Disorder, this study showed the relationship between Stress and Eating Disorder and revealed the role of Experiential Avoidance and the Meaning in life as two underlying and continuing factors that should be considered in the treatment of this disorder.         Based on the transdiagnostic approach, various variables have been introduced and found, however, their relationships and interactions are still questionable. The four important and effective transdiagnostic factors introduced in researches are emotion regulation, experiential avoidance, intolerance of uncertainty, and self-compassion. The aim of the present study was to investigate the mediating role of experiential avoidance and intolerance of uncertainty in the relationship between self-compassion, and emotion regulation difficulties in students. This research was in the form of modeling of various correlation methods. For this purpose, 405 students of Shiraz University present in the second semester of 2018-2019 year were enrolled by multistage cluster random sampling. Participants, then, completed the Short Form of Self-Compassion Scale (SCS-SF), the Acceptance and Action Questionnaire–II (AAQ-II), the Intolerance of Uncertainty Scale (IUS), and the Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale (DERS). Data analysis was performed by structural equation modeling, using AMOS software. The path analysis method showed that self-compassion predicted emotion regulation both directly and indirectly through intolerance of uncertainty and experiential avoidance. Therefore, it can be concluded that self-compassion enables individuals for confrontation to their experience and enhance uncertainty tolerance to help them manage their emotions. Accordingly it is important to pay attention to the changes of these two variables in self-compassion-based interventions to regulate and manage emotions. Manuscript profile

        This study was accomplished to evaluate the effectiveness of the acceptance and commitment training on the acceptance of autistic children by mothers. The method of the study was quasi-experimental with pre-test, post-test, and follow-up design. Population of the study included the whole mothers whose autistic child was receiving training and rehabilitation in Nedaye Asre Tehran Autism Center in educational year of 2015-16. Using convenience sampling, eleven mothers were selected as a sample group and received acceptance and commitment training in nine two-hour-sessions. As a research tool, the second edition of Acceptance and Action Questionnaire was used and analyzed based on data using paired/correlated t-test. Data analysis of results revealed that there was a significant difference between the results of the pre-test, post-test and follow-up. The result confirmed that acceptance and commitment training has been effective on mothers in accepting their autistic child, by increasing psychological flexibility and decreasing experiential avoidance.
