The present study investigated the relationship between relationship beliefs and couple burnout and the role of mindfulness as a possible mediating variable. Method of the present study was correlational and all married people in Yazd city were considered as the statistical population with a sample size of 380 subjects (200 females & 180 males) who were selected through available sampling method in 2016. The participants completed Belief Inventory (RBI), Mindfulness, Attention and Awareness Scale (MAAS), and Couple Burnout Measure (‎CBM). As data analysis showed that, there was a significant negative relationship between mindfulness and the relationship beliefs subscales “disagreement is destructive to a relationship”, “partners cannot change themselves and their relationship”, “one should be sexually perfect”, and “there are differences between males’ and females’ personalities and relationship needs”. Also, there was a negatively significant relation between mindfulness and couple burnout. The findings also indicated that relationship beliefs subscales were positively related to couple burnout. In addition, data from path analysis indicated that mindfulness plays a mediating role in relationship between irrational relationship beliefs and couple burnout. Manuscript profile

The present research was aimed to investigate the effectiveness of training of emotionally-focused approach on couple burnout and tendency for divorce in couples. The population included all the couples who visited the Health House because of marital problem and conflict and lack of intimacy in their relationships. In the present research, by using available sampling method, 20 couples were selected who had the highest scores in the research questionnaire, and their assigned into two groups experiment and control (10 couples per group). Data gathering tools in the present research were Pains Couple Burnout Measure (1996) and the Divorce Tendency Scale of Roswelt, Jonson &, Moro (DTS) (1986), which were completed by the participations of both groups before and after the intervention. The results of the multivariate covariance analysis suggested that the training of emotionally-focused approach has led to significant decrease in couple burnout and two components of emotional exhaustion and mental fatigue in couples of the experiment group, but it has not been effective on reducing physical fatigue of the couples. Other results indicated that tendency to divorce in couples of the experiment group has had significant reduction compared to the control group. According to the findings of the present research, it can be concluded that training of the emotionally-focused approach has been able to be effective on reducing couple burnout and tendency to divorce in couples. Counselors and family therapists can use the findings of the present research for their clinical and therapeutic interventions. Manuscript profile

In the current paper, two independent studies have been reported. The purpose of first study was to investigate the relationship between job motivation and job burnout characteristics via structural equation modeling. To this purpose, 377 Personnels of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company in Isfahan selected via stratified random sampling method. Measures of the study were: Warr and Inseoglu Job Motivation Characteristics Inventory (2012) and Maslach and Jackson (1981) Maslach Job Burnout Inventory. The results of the research, while introducing a different non-linear relationship, AD and CE, showed that the nonlinear model was superior to the linear model. The aim of the second study was to investigate the order of the motivational characteristics of the job according to the underlying variables. To this end, 984 employees of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company in Isfahan who were selected via stratified random sampling method, responded to the Warr and Inseoglu (2012) questionnaire. The results of the study showed the importance of the nonlinear nature of the job motivation variables in terms of the latent variables in the Threston model. Based on two different categories of motivations (AD and CE), it is advisable to make interventions to reduce burnout and also to repeat the research with the job stress variable. Manuscript profile

Burnout encompassed a host of medical, psychological, emotional and performance-related issues that can always be affected by individual and coach factors in elite athletes; therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between perfectionism and burnout, mediated by perceived coaching style in the context of the Covid-19 epidemic. In this cross-sectional study, 258 elite athletes (M= 22.05 years, SD= 3.08; 148 male) participated and completed scales of multidimensional perfectionism, athlete burnout and coaching style. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics by structural equation modeling. The results indicate that direct paths perfectionism to burnout, perfectionism to coaching style, coaching style to burnout, and indirect pathways to perfectionism to burnout were mediating by coaching style, significant. The results indicate that during the COVID 19, athletes who are less able to organize performance standards and expectations of themselves and others, and who are more committed to meeting external demands, are at higher risk of burnout. One could develop coach-education programmes that challenge beliefs regarding the effectiveness of controlling coaching behaviors to reduce perfectionist tendencies and expectations in athletes. In doing so, one might curtail the risk of burnout in athlete during the COVID 19. Manuscript profile
